Here's what's on tap: Tuesday in Snowmass Village, Anderson Ranch Arts Center will screen the award-winning ski documentary film Steep at 7:30 p.m. in the Schermer Meeting Hall. Wednesday, the Aspen Chapel Gallery will celebrate it’s 200th exhibition “Small Wonders” with an artists reception starting at 5 p.m. Thursday in Basalt, The Temporary presents Immigrant Voices: A Project by English In Action and Writ Large, featuring seven immigrant community members telling stories at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m., Aspen High School presents Humbug High, a contemporary portrayal of A Christmas Story with a matinee Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Black Box Theater. And, Santa will be at The Launchpad in Carbondale for First Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sopris Theatre Company presents Uncommon Women and Others’ at Colorado Mountain College’s New Space Theatre. Welcome to the Roaring Fork Valley's holiday season! Tuesday, Anderson Ranch Arts Center is celebrating its latest exhibition. “And Still I Rise” focuses on political art and is open in Snowmass Village at 4:30 p.m. The Glenwood Vaudeville Revue ’s holiday show will run throughout the week. Shows start at 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tuesday night in Aspen, Gary Numan will perform with Me Not You at Belly Up, Aspen , starting at 8 p.m. Then Wednesday at the Belly Up , LeAnn Rimes’ brings her holiday tour Today is Christmas to Aspen. That show starts at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday nights in Aspen, the JAS Cafe returns for its annual winter season with R&B artist Niki Haris & the James Horowitz trio. Shows are at the Cooking School of Aspen at 7 and 9:15 p.m. each night. Friday in Basalt, Aspen rock group Jes Grew will take the stage at The Temporary at 8:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Aspen, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be performed at The Wheeler

The Glenwood Vaudeville Revue ’s holiday show resumes its run Tuesday at 6 p.m. It runs through Saturday. Thursday, at The Wheeler Opera House , the band Starship featuring Mickey Thomas takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater will perform at the Cooking School of Aspen as part of this season’s JAS Cafe. Those performances run Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9:15 p.m. both nights. Friday in Basalt, the El Javi trio return to The Temporary with flamenco guitar beginning at 8 p.m. Let’s Just Dance will host a New Year’s Strut at the Third Street Center Sunday night in Carbondale. That event begins at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Glenwood Springs, there will be a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Glenwood Hot Springs pool starting at 7 p.m. New Year’s Eve fireworks will take place in Wagner Park Sunday night at 8 p.m. with a bonfire and DJ set. On Tuesday at 6, Alice McDermott kicks off the Winter Words series, hosted by Aspen Words at Paepcke Auditorium. Wednesday the Aspen Chapel Gallery ’s latest exhibition opens. “7 X 7” will feature student artists from the Roaring Fork Valley’s seven high schools. The opening reception starts at 5. Also Wednesday in Basalt, the Ann Korologos Gallery celebrates the opening of its newest exhibition “Winter in the West.” That reception also starts at 5. Tonight at 5, Colorado Mountain College in Aspen presents a reception for the group exhibition “Open Book: The Book as Object and Image,” featuring work from over 30 artists. Tuesday, there will be an author talk and book signing with 2017 U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith at Paepcke Auditorium at 6. She is the second speaker in this season’s Aspen Words lineup. Wednesday at 5, the Aspen Art Museum ’s CEO and director Heidi Zuckerman will give a talk titled, “I Don’t Get It” regarding the works of artist Nate Lowman currently on display. Wednesday, Aspen Snowmass will be celebrating the local athletes heading to PyeongChang to compete in the 2018 winter Olympics. This event will take place at the Gondola Plaza in Aspen at 3:30. Then Wednesday at the Aspen Art Museum , starting at 5, there will be a Los-Angeles-themed screening of Charlie Chaplin’s “A Day’s Pleasure” and Mick Jackson’s “L.A.
